Permission to Rest (Gentle Soft)

[Verse] The clock keeps ticking but I stand still A mountain of tasks An unyielding will My feet are heavy The ground feels thin [Chorus] Permission to rest I whisper low To let it go To let it go The world can spin I'll take it slow Permission to rest My heart says so [Verse 2] The sun sets quiet No applause tonight The sky holds secrets in fading light I chase the calm But it slips my hand [Prechorus] Close my eyes Hear the hush Let the silence fill the rush [Chorus] Permission to rest I whisper low To let it go To let it go The world can spin I'll take it slow Permission to rest My heart says so [Bridge] I'm not a machine I need a pause Breathing deep without a cause The stars don't hurry They just shine Maybe I can stop and find what's mine
